Silly Little K-nights

Ah, to gallop around in chainmail, surcoat, bucket helm, gauntlets and greaves like a silly medieval knight; and to have a squire follow me around banging coconuts together in lieu of an actual horse in this modern age.

Sometimes all it takes for me to get motivated on my hobbies or creative projects is to enjoy something of a similar genre or topic, but completely unrelated to what I'm working on. Like this. I have plenty of medieval fantasy themes, but most are serious in tone. Watching something that is pure absurdist comedy but still medieval helps be to break out, pull the stick from out of my backside. Sometimes, in my experience, my favorite ideas are the ones that are complete nonsense, the ones I get when I stop thinking.

Having watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail for the first time, after college, after entering the working world--perhaps surprising since I am obsessed with Medieval and Viking history and culture, and a love for fantasy and Dungeons & Dragons as it is--I now have even more motivation to just lean into it. Like, why not? Life's too short. We take it too seriously most times. Just put on some armor and do a silly dance just for the fun of it.

I think I'm gonna resume making some chainmail, when I get a chance to.
